About Cosm.Ethics Bar

Cosm.Ethics Bar is more than just a company; it is a movement towards a more sustainable future. Founded by me, Sophie Jansen, a student at Tilburg University where I follow the study ‘Entrepreneurship & Business Innovation’, I aim to change the standards within the cosmetics industry.

My mission goes beyond simply offering sustainable products. I believe in a world where ethics and beauty go hand in hand. That’s why Cosm.Ethics Bar uses only fully sustainable ingredients and the packaging is made from renewable bamboo. Through the business model, I aim to make consumers aware of their choices and encourage them to choose products that are good for both themselves and the planet.

But it doesn’t stop there. The future plan includes introducing refill options, allowing consumers to reuse their packaging and reduce their ecological impact. Additionally, I aim to open our first physical store within a few years, where customers can refill their products—just like at a real bar!

At Cosm.Ethics Bar, we believe that the future of beauty is sustainable. Join us as we build a world where ethical choices are the standard and where beauty does not come at the expense of our planet.

Cosm.Ethics Bar and the Sustainanble Development Goals

Good Health and Well-Being: Cosm.Ethics Bar puts the health and wellbeing of its customers first by providing safe, non-toxic formulations devoid of dangerous ingredients. The goals are to encourage healthier lives and lower the dangers of coming into contact with potentially dangerous ingredients present in a lot of traditional cosmetics.

Responsible Consumption and Production: Cosm.Ethics Bar encourages ethical manufacturing and consumption methods in the cosmetics business by providing vegan formulas and eco-friendly packaging. My goals are to decrease plastic waste, get rid of dangerous chemicals, and promote ingredient procurement that is sustainable.

Life below water and Life on land: Cosm.Ethics Bar is deeply committed to protecting both marine and terrestrial ecosystems through our sustainable practices. The conventional cosmetics industry often contributes to significant environmental degradation, including pollution and loss of biodiversity. At Cosm.Ethics Bar, we strive to mitigate these impacts by promoting practices that preserve and protect natural habitats. Our products are formulated to be free from harmful chemicals that can pollute waterways and soil, thereby safeguarding aquatic and terrestrial life. We use sustainably sourced ingredients that do not deplete natural resources or harm ecosystems. Furthermore, our commitment to reducing plastic waste directly supports efforts to keep oceans and land free from plastic pollution, which is a major threat to wildlife.
